This Saturday’s cake menu is so good we’re considering renaming the day Cakeurday. Whether you’re popping by for a quick coffee or settling in for a good gossip and a long sit, we’ve got just the treats to keep you sweet.
Here’s what’s coming out of the ovens and onto your plates:
🍰 Sue’s Victoria Sponge – The classic. Light, fluffy, jammy, creamy — it’s basically a hug in cake form.
🍫 Val’s Guinness Cake – Deep, dark, and slightly boozy. Like if chocolate cake grew up, got mysterious, and moved to Dublin.
🍑 Val’s Apricot Fruit Cake – Soft, fruity, and makes you feel like you’ve made a sensible life choice.
🥕 Nicki’s Carrot Cake – Spiced just right with a generous layer of cream cheese frosting. Yes, it counts as one of your five a day (probably).
🍒 Nicki’s Bakewell Cake – All the almond-cherry deliciousness of a Bakewell tart, but way fluffier.
🍋 Jackie’s Lemon Drizzle – Sharp, sweet, and seriously moreish. Like sunshine in sponge form.
☕️ Jackie’s Coffee & Walnut – A proper grown-up slice. Pairs dangerously well with an actual coffee.
Fancy a slice of everything? We get it. We’ve been there. No judgement here. You could even buy some to eat today, and some to takeaway!
As always, we’re outdoor, community-run, and raising money to keep the beautiful Tin Church standing — so your cake habit is basically charity work. 🫶 See you on Saturday! ☕🍰
