Weather permitting, next Wednesday evening (12th August), the sky will put on a massive show as the Moon passes in front of the Sun. Here in Cheshire, we’ll hopefully see a whopping 90% partial eclipse! But while staring directly at the Sun requires special glasses π, gazing directly at our cake counter requires no safety equipment whatsoeverβ¦ just a healthy appetite.
Why wait until Wednesday for something out of this world? Weβve got an absolute constellation of bakes ready for you this Saturday morning!
This Saturdayβs Cosmic Menu:
π Jackieβs Lemon Drizzle: Zingy, zesty, and so brilliantly bright it gives the Sun a run for its money.
πͺ Sarahβs Almond Cookies: Crunchy little stars that mysteriously vanish faster than light in a black hole.
π₯ Nickiβs Carrot Cake: Wonderfully spiced comfort food that we are counting as 1 of your 5 a day (don’t fact-check us on that)!
π Andreaβs Chocolate Cake with Buttercream & Cherries: Rich, dramatic, and delicious enough to deserve its own red carpet.
β Dianeβs Coffee & Walnut Cake: The ultimate partner for your flat white, guaranteed to keep the conversation flowing.
π Beeβs None-gluten Orange Polenta Cake: Pure golden sunshine on a plate, proving GF never means flavour-free.
π Jackieβs Victoria Sponge with Strawberries & Fresh Cream: A soft, creamy British classic that will total-eclipse everything else on the table.
Whether youβre wrapping up an early morning dog walk or just looking for an excuse to avoid weekend chores, pop by St Johnβs Coffee Shop! Weβve got freshly pulled barista coffee, home-baked slices of heaven, and standard-issue warm Adlington hospitality waiting for you.
Pro-tip: Arrive early! Unlike the solar eclipse, these slice-shaped celestial bodies definitely won’t be hanging around long. βπ°β¨
