Say hello to Gilbert, our handsome Dog of the Month, a Copper-nosed Beagle with the grandest heart! Rescued many years ago, this sweet senior gent traded kennel life for a lifetime of love and has been living the absolute dream ever since. Whether he’s exploring the beautiful Cheshire countryside, socialising with his canine pals, or mastering the art of the perfect garden sunbathe, Gilbert has a gentle charm and love for life to rival any pup half his age.
On receiving the honour of St John’s Coffee Shop’s Dog of the Month, Gilbert had this to say: 🐾
“Hi, I’m Gilbert! I might be a senior boy at 12 years young, but my family says my silky ears and adorable eyes can still get me just about anything I want. My favourite way to kick off the weekend is my Saturday morning visit to St John’s Coffee Shop. After a nice stroll through the countryside, there is nothing better than relaxing with the sounds of the cafe, and hoping a stray crumb might come my way! When I’m not out and about making new doggy friends or catching some rays in the garden, you can usually find me curled up on the settee. I’m a professional cuddler, and there is truly no better spot in the world than right next to my family. Come and say hello if you see me this weekend; I promise I’m as soft as I look!”
Gilbert’s journey from rescue dog to beloved family member is a beautiful reminder of just how much joy and loyalty a rescue pup can bring.
