What a week it’s been for British sport! It all began last Saturday afternoon when Josh Kerr lit up the London Diamond League by smashing the men’s mile world record that had stood for 27 years, crossing the finish line in an astonishing 3:42.66. 🏃🏽Then came Saturday evening, when England’s rugby team completed their Southern Hemisphere tour with a dramatic victory over Argentina. 🏉 Later that night, the Three Lions gave us another reason to celebrate as they signed off their World Cup campaign in style with a thrilling 6-4 victory over France to claim third place, England’s best World Cup finish since lifting the trophy in 1966! 🥉🦁🦁🦁 And, with a little smile, we watched Spain beat Argentina in Sunday’s football final too…🇪🇸
The celebrations continued on Sunday as England’s men’s cricket team secured a dramatic 2-1 One Day International series victory over India at Lord’s. 🏏 It turned out to be quite a week of sporting memories for British fans, giving us plenty to talk about!
