Our World Cup dream may have come to an end after Wednesday’s semi-final defeat to Argentina, and like many fans we’re still feeling the disappointment. But what a tournament it’s been! Tomorrow evening the Three Lions face France in the third-place play-off, and there’s real history on the line: England haven’t finished in the top three since they lifted the trophy in 1966. They’ve come close twice since, reaching the semis in 1990 and 2018 only to lose the play-off both times. A win tomorrow would make it the best finish in sixty years. No pressure, lads!
