Right, Adlington, this weekend is all about backing the local community, and there’s no better place to start than our counter, stacked with cakes baked by your very own neighbours. Grab a coffee, pick a slice (or three), and know that every mouthful is doing its bit for our little church in Adlington.
This week’s line-up:

🥕 Nicki’s Carrot Cake: it’s a vegetable, so basically health food

🍋 Jackie’s Lemon Drizzle: zingy, moist and reliably brilliant. A St John’s favourite for very good reason
🍑 Jackie’s Upside Down Plum Cake: confusingly named, totally delicious
🍏 Nicki’s Apple Cinnamon Crumble Loaf: cosy season starts here
🍮 Sue’s Sticky Toffee Cake: dangerously moreish, you’ve been warned
🚶♂️ Fancy earning it first? Try one of these local walking routes and use us as your pit-stop:
• The Macclesfield Canal Stroll (Easy): Walk the flat towpath along the canal from Adlington towards Higher Poynton or Prestbury.
• The Adlington & Whiteley Green Loop (Moderate): A scenic wander through local country lanes and footpaths, passing the historic Adlington Hall gates.
• The Middlewood Way Trail (Family & Dog-Friendly): Follow the tree-lined, traffic-free former railway track.
All three roads lead back to us, conveniently.
Then, once you’re all cake’d out, pop down the road to the Prestbury Village Show, which opens to the public at 2pm. Marrows, blooms and children’s food art await 🎪
If you fancy supporting a community event in the evening, there will be a BBQ at Adlington Village Hall to round off your community-filled Saturday.
