Did you catch the Britain’s Got Talent final last Saturday evening? It was so great to see The Hawkstone Farmers Choir – 30 real farmers – lift the BGT trophy with their original song called “This Is Home”. What a massive win for the British countryside!
Here in Adlington, surrounded by farms, fields, and familiar faces, we know exactly what they mean. The fields aren’t just scenery; they are the lifeblood of our village. But it’s the people who bring it all to life. Our coffee shop thrives because of that community spirit: our incredible volunteers, the regulars, the dog walkers, and the cyclists who navigate winding country lanes to refuel on coffee and sugar.
To celebrate our agricultural heroes, our bakers have been rehearsing all week to bring you a Golden Buzzer line-up so delicious it deserves its own spot at the Royal Variety Performance.
🍋 Jackie’s Lemon Drizzle: The perennial crowd-pleaser that never, ever fails to bring the house down.
🥕 Nicki’s Carrot Cake: A moist, spiced classic that’s quietly stealing the spotlight one forkful at a time.
🍪 Sarah’s Almond Cookies: Crisp, nutty little delights that deserve a round of applause (and maybe an encore).
🥥 Andrea’s Coconut & Lime Cake: A tropical harmony of creamy coconut and zingy lime that hits all the right notes.
🍌 Carolyn’s Banana Cake: Soft, sweet and comforting, like a warm round of applause for your tastebuds.
🍫 Bee’s Chocolate Cake: Rich, deeply chocolatey and absolutely unapologetic about it.
🍓 Sue’s Victoria Sponge with jam, buttercream and fresh strawberries: A true great British classic that deserves a standing ovation.
The Hawkstone Farmers had their moment last weekend; this Saturday morning belongs to Adlington. Come down, support local, and let’s celebrate our brilliant community!
