The runners are ready, the excitement is building and this Saturday, St John’s is hosting a race of its very own. A Grand National of cakes. Whether you’re backing a firm favourite or daring to sample the full field, this weekend’s line-up is guaranteed to be a winner.

4. Carolyn’s Chocolate Cake: Deep, indulgent and irresistibly chocolatey, a true champion for chocoholics.
5. Andrea’s Banana Cake: Soft, sweet and comforting, with just the right hint of ripe banana.
6. Esther’s White Chocolate & Raspberry Blondies: Creamy sweetness balanced with fruity sharpness in every square.
7. Kate’s Flapjacks (Vegan & non-Gluten): Chewy, wholesome and deliciously inclusive, a treat for everyone.
8. Sue’s Victoria Sponge: Fluffy sponge, strawberry jam and fresh cream, a timeless classic.
Trot in any time between 10:30 am and 1:30 pm, enjoy your selection with a proper coffee (or tea), then head home and settle in for the big race later in the afternoon.
